And thanks to rezzeJ for starting the whole mess!
There have been successes. I can workout regularly without being anxious about how much or how little I'm doing it. I've lost about 25lbs in the last 6 months, might be more, I'm holding a bit of water today I need to do yoga regularly to feel normal. On a good day I can get my legs into something approximating lotus position for a minute or two. I've gotten into one of my fallback schools, now I need to see if there's more I can do to get into the schools I actually want to get into. There are things I need to work on. SOCRA Certification classes start soon here at work. Gotta get on that. I need to spend more time in the woods/on the water. I'm going to go kayaking after work instead of for a run. Maybe I'll bring my fishing pole. In general, I have the procedural parts of 'adulting' down. Now it's all the ethereal, self-actualization stuff that needs refinement.
Mixed Results as of yet. I can't seem to find the right way to link up my stats - don't know if that'll be of consequence with regard to the end goal of this project. Any who, back to results. Eating Healthier Success! I've nearly entirely cut out meats from my diet, throwing in more nuts and fruits. Something about no meats as a strict rule has come to bother me though, which I plan to write up a post about soon... I can't really say I'm saying or feeling too different... I'm not tired after meals, if that counts for anything? Paired with this, I decided to add on weekly physical activity to the list. I already bike nearly daily, but only for class. I figured adding on at least one sort of intense activity that I'll actually enjoy doing might set me back on a path of reducing gaining muscle mass rather than fat %. I'm in no way someone concerned with the minute details of calorie intake, checking my poundage, or any other micromanaging numbers regarding my body, but watching and feeling fat slowly replacing muscle isn't fun to experience. I'd like to think the diet change has curbed exponential fat gain. Reading Can't say I've been very active on finishing off books. I think I've got an idea to really get it going: find an optimal time block AND put music on lightly in the background. I forgot about that last bit and it was very helpful yesterday reading through some school assignments. Something in the back of my brain tells me it's something to keep the background noise in my head preoccupied. Staying Above HomeworK Success! During the time I threw this on I was planning on taking an online spanish course (bad idea). I switched it out for a history class. Easy work of that one. We'll see how it holds up when Fall sets in.
Our outreach hit 10,000 total people over a ton of free events and paid teaching outreach programs. The goal is to hit 15,000, but I have upped that to 18,000. If the weather holds out we should get 3K in July, and another 3-4K in august, then if last year is a guide, 2-3K in September, and 2K or so in October. It is all dependent on weather. I read a lot, but did not go to the gym or work out at all. I've not been back regularly since the accident, which I used as an excuse. Got one big thing done at work finally and a minor project off the books as well. I still need to drop 30 pounds and get moving again, but at least the diet is on point.
