I know, not really original but we had an amazing summer week after a long ass winter and it makes me sooo happy I want to see your most summery pictures that represent best this time of year. Either go out and take a couple shots or just find old photos from your previous adventures and get them on here!

My picture: Not the most picturesque scene ( I do have a ton of beautiful views from amazing places rom last year) but I just love the long shadows of summer and how long days are. Who doesn't love the hot summer afternoons that slowly turn into hot summer nights?
This is a bit of a cheat since it's not summer, but spring. I'm lucky enough to have captured this Bradford Pear right outside of my door step. The sun was shinning, bees swarming, and silhouetted shapes of the petals provided enough shadows to keep me shaded, and cool, on my porch. I knew then that the winter was over.
It was nearly two years ago, during a one week summer trip to Berlin.
Great shot. I hate the idea of trash being dumped in such a beautiful spot but it is definitely visually interesting. I like the toy car hanging from the tree. Reminds me of a Grandaddy song.
I really like that second photograph a lot. The first word that popped in my head was "friendship."
This image is for the most part an unremarkable if perfectly adequate representation of summer but for one thing: it was taken from a moving train. If you ever find yourself on the Italian Riviera, travel the coastal line toward Monaco. Half the time you'll basically be in the ocean. 
Well, I have to post this here again: Summer is about music and concerts. Last night I saw an amazing concert put on by the gentleman pictured above, Sufjan Stevens. I have been listening to his music for over a decade. His albums have been an enormous part of the soundtrack to my life and it was a real pleasure to hear him last night and get to meet him. Summer is off to a good start!
Awesome picture! I find the grain actually adds lots to the whole atmosphere. Glad you're happy about the photochallenge :) You can post some random challenges anytime too! I wish there where more of them but sometimes i feel that even stuff that takes like 5 mins to set up takes a lot of mental energy that i cannot gather up :( I'm glad summer's here and school's out. i'll have more time for hubski and hobbies in general.

As another meta-question: is there a good extension for viewing pictures, rather than opening a new window for each?
We've had a lot of rain recently in Texas, and I'm really obsessed by weather. So here is a little town I drove through right before the rain.
Here's one from July 4th at Black River State Forest in Wisconsin.
Here's a few shots of summer in Wyoming. Sinks Canyon, near Lander... ...and the Popo Agie River, which flows through Sinks Canyon. This shot was taken from inside the cavern through which the river disappears underground. A reservoir near Wheatland.
I feel like sunsets are cheating a little because of course, how can you take an ugly picture of a beautiful sunset. But the main thing I like about it is the plastic lawn chair that is just floating in the negative space.
Not the best in terms of quality, mainly due to the net. but BASEBALL!
