I was one of those eager school children in 1986 watching Challenger go up. I was actually sick from school that day, but I still watched the launch at home.

This is interesting, as I read a while ago that researchers were trying to genetically modify a version of the HIV virus to attack cancer cells specifically. The idea being that HIV is currently easier to treat than cancer. Plus, HIV is apparently evolving into a milder form according to this article http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30254697

Well let's see....it was one of those things I lucked out on. The E.A.A operates this plane, and one night at work I heard an ad offering rides on this plane. Since the next day was Sept. 11th, I figured the best way to acknowledge this would be to fly on an aeroplane. It was $70, and they flew a loop around town.

As for the actual plane; it is really narrow inside. [img][/img] An average person can stand in the middle and touch both sides of the interior. It is very loud, like 20 Harley Davidson motorcycles are propelling it through the air. The cruising speed is about 90 mph, so it is a leisurely trip.

What else? This plane was apparently in the movie Public Enemies, and I sat in the same seat Johnny Depp was in.

I find this to be true sometimes, though I tend for the most part to stay in sub-reddits involving specific hobbies rather than whatever the throng is doing. Having said that, I do find that reddit generally has a hive mind mentality and it leans towards a dim view of women and relationships with them that frankly doesn't exist in real life.

The thing is this idea of communicating via the internet in the manner we are is a very new concept. As such, the rules and mores of this new frontier are being defined and re-defined, changing over time into something else. Whether or not that something else is for better or for worse will itself change as time goes on.

What I wonder is what this will mean for the future of people who work on their own cars? Conceivably, GM could sue a person who, say, changes their own oil or takes their car for service to any place other than an authorized GM dealership.
