Well, yeah. The conversations here are generally great. Some people just walk the line between discussion/debate vs arguing a little too often. I describe the behavior as this kindof very well worded verbal assault. Like: "how can I tell you to STFU in the most reasoned way possible." The aggression seeps through, but maybe I'm projecting.

Name:

The username is apparently standard.

Location:

NYC

Age:

just hit 31 in July

Current Preoccupation:

Setting up this house to be self sufficient so I can buy a home with my partner in the upcoming years (need multiple bases of operation for the community.) Started a new job in July. Probably should do some push ups or something. Lots of house n techno. Weed. Watching white people still be in denial about directly confronting their racist half.

Previous Preoccupations:

Uh. Same unless we go back a decade.

What change would you like to see from the users of Hubski?

Some of y'all got a permanent sick in your asses, so I don't comment. The content and discourse is still the best thing about here.

you can come kick it anytime, lol! it turns out there are a lot of people who feel that way. We've been turning people down the past few weeks and a couple other camps run by persons of color have reached out to hang.

we'll be on Rod's Road @8:00 this year. This too is my 3rd playa trip and POC camp's biggest year at 35 ppl. I'll be on playa the 23rd.

We're actually having events in camp and an art installation in camp thus year. You can find us on the unofficial map and the playa events calendar atm.

Im glad they changed the city layout so getting on Rod's Road is actually intuitive now and people can find us!

Also, obligatory art project crowd funding link(im not in it): https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mighty-burning-man-2018-camping-design#/

I still use PGP @veen But thankfully my client doesn't load anything external unless I aak to.

This 'Hot Take' format driven by short attention social media needs to be thrown out completely. I personally think it ends up hurting proclaimed "progressives" more than they're willing to admit. When your platform is dependent on good-faith conversation and critical thinking on gathered information, progress stalls everytime one enables this sort of discourse. Id even argue it helps what America currently calls the conservative movement because its built on low effort emotional content.

Whoever wrote this clearly has an anti-Sanders ax to grind. There was nothing wrong with his statement. It's written for an immediate reaction and not a conversation on substance.
