Good Morning, everyone!
This round's topic is: Socially conscious films
Whether it's about the rich/poor divide, the dangers of authoritarian government, how racism/bigotry is bad, or how we should all just get along, submit a movie that has something major to say about human society.

God Bless America is about how we give way too much attention to people who don't deserve it. We glorify rude people and put them on TV. We give attention to idiots and are feeding them to be more idiotic. I really like the film and think the message is very true. Fair warning, the film is kinda violent.
Children of Men. Soylent Green. Planet of the Apes (original). They Live.
My submission is: La Haine. The film follows three youths from the Paris projects as they roam through the city in the aftermath of violent protests that broke out the night before when an arab youth was beaten by police. It's highly stylized, with wonderful cinematography and a gorgeous black and white palette, and with the news from past year of so in the US, I thought it'd be a relevant watch.
I'm going to second this film every time it comes up until we watch it. Stunning film, one of the few to leave me silent when it ended.
We have another tie in the voting so let's do like last time. I'll reply to this with separate comments for every eligible film. Share the comment of the film you'd most like to see. (Children of Men is ineligible as it's been watched in the club in the past). Also, Star Wars post with info on stream and dates is coming up shortly. b_b, humanodon, ButterflyEffect, OftenBen, roysexton, iammyownrushmore, blackbootz,_refugee_, mk, eightbitsamurai, Ave, camarillobrillo, havires, kleinbl00, ecib, insomniasexx, elizabeth, nowaypablo, pigeon, rjw, StJohn, Mindwolf, Meriadoc, beezneez, longstocking, theadvancedapes, ghostoffuffle, T-Dog, coffeesp00ns, bfv, cgod, mike, thenewgreen, zebra2, Kaius, Zurangatang, InkBubble, Scorpio, enjoyablethings, edricarica, subduedit, protorobot, War, Formerly_Me, joelg236, steve, rinx, Merlin, zonk
I'm suggesting Equilibrium with Christian Bale! I remember writing an essay about it over 10 years ago in my English class and if you look under the surface I feel like the movie has a lot to offer. Didn't link any trailer, because all I've looked at gave to much away from the story already.
I remember having a couple thoughts after watching The Time That Remains, but the only one I can remember is that I thought it was good.
