My submission is: La Haine. The film follows three youths from the Paris projects as they roam through the city in the aftermath of violent protests that broke out the night before when an arab youth was beaten by police. It's highly stylized, with wonderful cinematography and a gorgeous black and white palette, and with the news from past year of so in the US, I thought it'd be a relevant watch.

I'm going to second this film every time it comes up until we watch it. Stunning film, one of the few to leave me silent when it ended.
