Last time around we broke records! Thursday seemed like a solid day even if people could only jump in for two minutes. Let's do one more before Thanksgiving. Thursday the 19th at 6 PM EST, 3 PM PST.
As with the other times, I'll drop a link here and in the chat before we kick off.
This was really fun! In many ways, this was reaffirming as well. I'm glad that though I've been mostly absent, hubski persists in such a great way. Thanks c_hawkthorne for doing the thing!
Sorry I had to bounce, the real reason is that I got a guy delivering booze. Might duck back in later, dunno. Really good seeing everyone, that was the best video conference of the pandemic, for me.
I thought it was appropriate that the conversation dutifully trudged through reexamining what we want as citizens for and of this society. It wasn't overtly political (edit: nah, this does sound inherently political), more of an attempt to define a push for common, logical interests in this rapidly unfolding era of information chaos, given the increasingly unequal wealth distributions resulting from "populist" regimes. citation; yeahhh Sounded to me like some very reasonable and informed hubski'ers are worried about diverging truths based on media bubbles. Yes from me. There seems to be a relatively widespread sense of a need for seriously inverting the status quo. Stocks are good though.
So far they've all lasted 3+ hours and people jump in halfway through. Also the room is always there, there's no host or anything so people can keep hanging around all day and night.
Got your text Steve. Sorry I couldn’t stop by. As last time it’s my night to take care of dinner and the kids. Shepherds pie and I made a bonfire and s’mores. Next time!!
