That's a really nice song! I'm very open to music, and rarely saying "X is my favourite genre". Along with whatever else is going on in my life, I know the season has a big part in what I want to listen to. I can't imagine in the heart of Winter when it's dark at 5pm, cold and raining, I'd want to listen to this. But for right now it just fits so perfect!
I'm seeing Cloud Nothings in my hometown this weekend, and I'm looking forward to it. I liked the entire "Here and Nowhere Else" EP. They remind me a lot of this band I was really into a couple of years ago, No Age.

The Grouch Edit: I changed them to links because for some reason the video boxes were just blank to me. So I don't know if it was something I didn't do correctly.
(keep in mind that the genres are only mostly representative and there so you kind of know what you're getting into, and might be debatable) re:plus - Solitude (Jazzy Hip-hop) MACROSS 82-99 ft. Yesterday I had a fantastic music experience. I put on my studio headphones and listened to Sufjan Stevens Carrie and Lowell in full while power washing my house. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. There's nothing like a great album and a menial task. Zen.
Menial tasks, especially the dishes, are my favorite way to listen to new albums. And a funny thing about Carrie & Lowell - my first time hearing most of those songs was actually at his concert! I thought the album was eh at first, but hearing them live made me fall in love with every song on it.
I also listen to music while washing the dishes. It's a great way to take a chore and make it a treat. I saw him play that album live too. HOLY SHIT. I liked it prior to the show, but at the show it made me cry. No joke, and I'm not the type to get all weepy at a concert. I was really caught up in it all. Did you see, I met him prior:
Ah, sorry. Yes, we had the screens. Plus having just talked with him etc, it was all so real and emotional. He's one of very, very few artists that I feel like I've grown with. We are about the same age and we are both from Michigan. His songs really resonate with me.
It's a wonderful album. Have you listened to Michigan? It's a favorite of mine. I recently met Sufjan and after telling him all about Hubski, I mentioned to him that when I met my now wife, we listened to Michigan all the time. I told him that I fell in love with her to his album. He said, "wow, Michigan is a really dark album." He's right, I suppose, but its funny how your mindset dictates how you perceive a piece of artwork. I have never considered it a dark album. Also, check out Illinois. SO GOOD! I mean, could there be a more gorgeous song about a serial killer?
A&P was new to me and I love them. Thanks so much for posting.
Civil War are the band that are basically Sabaton, but not quite. Comprised of four(?) ex-Sabaton members who left around the time of Carolus Rex, they went to form this band which has a greater focus on American history. They're a good band, I bought their first numbered single when it was released, but their lead singer is probably the most devisive aspect of them. People seem to hate him or love him, and it's obvious to see why even if you do enjoy his style. Besides the point, this album is their best yet. Great and varied tracks, similair in style to Sabaton's Heroes album, they've already made a big improvement over their first album imo. PS is there any way to like disable embedded youtube videos in the comments to make them links instead? Makes the page load like a bitch
Genesis - Dancing with the Moonlit Knight (Progressive Rock) Leo Kottke - Too Fast (Instrumental Roots Country/Folk) Arctic Monkeys - Red Lights Indicate Doors Are Secured [Indie Rock] River City Extension - Something's Gotta Give (Indie Folk Rock)
Mumford & Sons: Tompkins Square Park Just love the melody and their new sound is interesting to say the least.
Bees by Caribou. Very chill electronic. Back of the Car by RAC ft. Nate Hendricks. Newish RAC track, similar vibe to one of my favorites by them - Cheap Sunglasses. Good summer song.
Blank Space - I Prevail On a calmer note: Down by the River - Milky Chance
