There's this excellent thoughtful creative website called hubski that was just featured on Michigan's Public Radio program "Stateside". You may want to check this out. Pretty cool.
Welcome Andrew. If you have any questions about the place, feel free to reach out to me. You can PM people by clicking on their name and then under their name it says "send __ mail." I noticed in another comment here that you mentioned that you are a writer and an editor. Feel free to post any of your original work here. On Hubski we celebrate content creators and encourage people to share what it is they are working on. Look forward to seeing you around, glad you found us!
I'm obviously hard of hearing. It's funny, http://thedailydot.com ran an article about Hubski some time ago, and asked me to send them some pictures of myself. I didn't have a lot to choose from but that one was in my phone, so I included it. Michigan Radio didn't ask me for a picture, but I guess they found it and liked that one too. I think I feel more comfortable hiding behind text. But, oh well.
That's what got me to try this site out too. Worked I guess
thenewgreen sent me the URL for the radio station, so I heard it "live" even though it was taped. Good work guys. When the interviewer asked, what do you see when you go to the website, Mark replied "a wall of text." I thought, "well that will send them running in the opposite direction, and yet AndrewK wasn't discouraged.
What I said was "when you visit Hubski, it's going to look like a wall of text, but what you won't initially see are all the conversations, the relationships and the big ideas beyond that wall of text. Like anything worthwhile in life, it takes an investment of time to see what Hubski truly has to offer." That's my wall of text. btw, I love the Phil Spector idea. Please, for the love of Pete, someone take that photo of mk and super-impose a Phil Spector afro :-) Thanks for listening LIVE. When I mentioned my friends in Toronto, you better believe I was thinking of my pals lil and theadvancedapes. I was bummed we didn't get to talk about Discussion Via Hubski. Ah... next time.
Is this when those of us that joined before it was mentioned on older media have to get jaded and say "it was better before this place sold out"? I hope not. I like the polite, positive discourse here. It makes me feel more civilized.
Great job on the interview! Looks like both of you are moving up in the world, eh? Also, welcome to any new people who may have joined due to this interview.
Wait? So where are all these people from Denmark? I don't know if I have met any of them or noticed. Personally I'm from Pittsburgh and live in NYC. Have we done a poll of this before?
Holland is not actually a country though, Netherlands is. North and South Holland are provinces in the Netherlands. My firm posted this for us, for all non-Dutch employees: http://www.cgpgrey.com/blog/the-difference-between-holland-t...
