Ok. Here's a new band that is really doing fascinating stuff for me: Dry Cleaning (bandcamp link) Start off with the Magic of Meghan live. About Meghan Markle becoming a royal, and how inspiring that is. My old Budapest bandmates are spread all over the world now, but we have an email thread going back several years where we share music we are currently listening to, and Dry Cleaning kinda has all of us in love with them right now.
Huh. People describe Daft Punk that way? Usually see that reserved for, like, Juan Atkins, any number of acts from Germany in the 80s/early 90s, or Giorgio Moroder (which probably isn't accurate). It's more likely that I'm off-base with this.
Re-listening to Daft Punk's Homework today in its entirety. spotify:album:5uRdvUR7xCnHmUW8n64n9y It is so much a part of my DNA at this point, after listening to it regularly since 1997, that it is hard to remember how different this was back when it came out. Changed music forever. Good work, boys.
Same. Except I was in elementary school so never got to experience what you’re describing, and unfortunately the only recent act I can think of is Burial whom I never seem to be on the same coast as his tours. Cannot imagine how revelatory seeing Daft Punk circa 1997-2002ish would have been.
