T-Dog's Facebook feed brought me this: Dig it! ButterflyEffect flagamuffin, I think you'll enjoy.
Been listening to the National. Took me a while, but I'm finally on board. Good band. Cool drumming
Is it just me, or did people just start playing her music on the radio all over again out of the blue? I could swear, six or seven years went by without me even thinking about her once, then bam, overnight I've been hearing her music all over the place.
It's possible - I shared this because I heard it on the radio a few days ago and it's been rattling around in my head since.
Donkey Kong Country 2 Soundtrack (and a bunch of other DK music as well). This was the second game I ever owned and it has an amazing and fitting soundtrack. I've also been listening to a few other soundtracks as well, mostly SNES: Kirby Superstar - Virus Theme: A pair of great games that had really amazing soundtracks to back them.
I'm not too familiar with it, but have you ever heard of a genre called Chiptunes? If you love video game music, it might be right down your alley. Also, if you like the music to Kirby's games, you might be interested in checking out Kirby's Dream Collection. It actually comes with an audio CD chock full of music from the series.
I do listen to 8-bit remixes from time to time, although I've not really listened to anything original. As for the Dream Collection, I bought it back when it came out and absolutely loved it and its CD. One of the best game compilations out there with a lot of history about the series and went well beyond having a few emulated games on a disc.
honestly, i didn't feel the album. but i also think that we shouldn't be so hard on this album, even though it took about roughly 3 years, because this album was really about celebrating his own success. but going into it i didn't realize that and that has left an overall distaste but im sure it'll eventually fade away
Are there people being hard on this? I've only listened to the 11 track version of The Life of Pablo, but this seems like another great Kanye album to me. Haven't seen much about it being a celebratory album but I have been reading a lot about Kanye referring to this as a gospel album and there certainly are a lot of biblical references in TLOP. I prefer it to Yeezus, for sure.
Can't get enough of this at the moment: Steven Wilson - No Part of Me I love the tightness and the control in the instrumentation, and the huge feeling of space I get from the contrast. Melancholy/Progressive/Ambient, bit of a rocky riff starting at about 3:20. The whole album is gold.
I've been digging The Soft Pink Truth's Why Pay More? Pretty cool.
For some reason I have been listening to a lot of City and Colour this week. I really like this tune of his from 2014 Coachella: And today I have been listening to Iron Maiden's first album. My cousin told me last night that when he was ten he was in my room and turned on the stereo and that was on. First time he had heard Iron Maiden. Then looked behind the amps and saw a bag of weed for the first time. What a sweet childhood memory. Charlotte the Harlot:
This past week, or maybe the week before, I discovered the band Dollar Signs. I fucking love them.
Kendrick Lamar - King Kunta This whole album is 🔥 🔥 🔥 but this song in particular has me pumping my fist.
