(Video is NSFW) Heard this on /r/listentothis and I really dig it.
HEY! I know these guys, they're from the same town in which I go to college. I've actually booked them for a show before, albeit a couple years ago. They've been around for probably 5 years now, and it's great to see them getting more exposure. I was pretty surprised when I heard them on Alt Nation and saw they're playing Lollapalooza. KOPPS is an insanely good band live, I'd recommend checking out their Fuck Jams EP. Which conveniently came with a KOPPS condom when you bought a physical copy of it.
That video was awesome and I really enjoyed the song too. Glad I checked that out, thanks.
I know the person behind Bad Cello and have been listening to his music a lot. I can't find this anywhere (where's your website?!) but I've been listening to one of thenewgreen's CDs, and New Kind of Me is one of my favorite tracks off it. I love the intro and chorus in particular, they remind me of stuff from the 70s that I listen to. I swear though, every time I hear that intro riff it reminds me of Van Morrison - Wild Night. Great album tng.
Thanks for listening to the album, that song is a favorite of mine as well. Funny that you mention the Van Morrison thing.. when I introduced the song to the rest of the band, the trumpet player started playing Wild Night's melody over top of it and we all had a good laugh. It definitely sounds a LOT like it but I promise that it's completely by accident. -There are worst artists to emulate. If only I could have Van's stage presence -TURN IT UP! TURN ON THAT ELECTRIC LIGHT!
I went to my friends' show Sunday night. It was epic. Here's a video of a cover of 4 NON BLONDES - WHAT'S UP It's pretty much super freaking amazing. Here's one of their songs Lose Control - Let It Be Known Here's their whole album: https://play.spotify.com/album/3lct8JzMNDOpmudLznHpLh?play=true&utm_source=open.spotify.com&utm_medium=open Sorry if you don't have spotify!
Run To The Hills
EDIT: I've really been digging Iron Maiden lately for some reason. Here are some more videos... (One of the few times where I don't mind using Vevo channels - even though they're like radio friendly 90% of the time)
YES. Arca is one of my favorite artists out right now.
Mine as well. Very very unique. He has a new album coming out some time this year...
This is live so I'm not sure how good the quality is, but I've been really, really digging David Wax Museum right now and especially this song - A Dog in this Fight. I saw them live over a year ago with Kingsley Flood (another great band) and to be honest I was more excited about KF. Recently however David Wax has come back to me in a really major way. I have this album and it's like 50% awesome, 30% great, 20% kind of meh. To me that's a pretty good deal.
