Nine years ago when I joined Hubski, I was living alone in a cottage in a tiny fishing village on the Tasmanian east coast, spending my hours writing a novel that would never be published.
Today I am married, have a well paying and rewarding job many people would give their right arm for, and living in a chic apartment overlooking the hippest part of one of the most liveable (allegedly) cities in the world. Not sure what the lesson from any of this is, but there you go.
Thanks mk! And thanks flagamuffin and steve! I'm a lurker but Hubski has always been a joy to me, and more so recently with this interminable lockdown.
We're gonna meet up in Melbourne someday, mark my words :).
Provided Melbourne isn't a smoking ruin by the end of the year, you're on.
Back at you goobster. Trust me when I tell you you don't actually want to be in Melbourne right now.
It was an idyllic year. Then the UK company, for whom I was working online a whopping 10 hours a week, changed their operations and I could no longer pay rent. And the local abalone farm had some sort of disease outbreak so they were no longer taking workers.
Happy belated hubday! It is amazing what 9 years can do. 9 years ago we had welcomed our first child. Now I have 3. Crazy! Glad the cards have fallen in your favor! Onward!
