Im gonna vote here on the criteria I have to go on, realistically: presentation and what I already know I like. Therefore, elizabeth is the clear winner. Pulled pork in any form is amazing, yum!
Gonna go with 8bit and respectfully disagree with you, TNG- nothing lacking in presentation. That looks like good dippin' right there. Yours is runner-up, but at this point, how many of these have you won already?
I can't win this one, that's one of the rules of the grubski challenges, you can't win back to back. Very wise were the men and women that forged the grubski charter. But I stand by my thought that 8bit could have plated the fazeek and snapped a pic. Take a look at those fish tacos from b_b. We eat with our eyes and those tacos are calling my name!
Those tacos are beautiful, but I eat with my MOUTH, TNG. And my hands. Crammed with bread. Dripping with stew. plates are an afterthought.
Yes, IRL = hands and mouth but online = plate appeal via photographs. I tried eating with my eyes once IRL, it was incredibly painful. Don't do it kids.
No plates with fazeek, it's a communal dish that everybody eats out of with the dipping bread. I gotchu tho, I mean even without the plate, I coulda, you know, aimed the camera a little better, heh. We had some again yesterday, perfect for snow outside.
UPDATE: 8BIT SAMURAI WINS THE 11TH GRUBSKI CHALLENGE! eightbitsamurai, I look forward to the grubski challenge you come up with. When you post it, it's good to have: 1. The challenge 2. The timeline 3. shout-outs Thanks to everyone that participated in the challenge and in the voting!
elizabeth, that pulled pork looks damn good. you've got my vote.
For me, I am going with eightbitsamurai, but ONLY because it sounds delicious, I must say that the photo likely did not do it any justice. Honorable mention to b_b for plating two entries and for inspiring me to go get Chinese food for lunch. Also, those fish tacos look amazing. However, the fazeek is something I've never made or tried before and I appreciate being introduced to something new and it was definitely "mixed." Great work to all involved. elizabeth, that burrito looks awesome, especially after seeing how tender that pulled pork turned out. I'm sure it was delicious, but it was not as in line with the challenge as the "fazeek." OftenBen, yours was definitely in line with the challenge, and while I'm sure it tastes awesome and makes you feel great, we tend to eat with our eyes too... and well.... Great work everybody! TLDR: I vote for 8bit.
Also, sorry for the late voting post. I've been sick of late and I'm finally on the mend. Cheers!
I vote b_b cause these look amazing. I've never made fish tacos, I'l have to try. You might have noticed I'm a bit on a mexican food obsession lately. I'd like to learn a few indian meals next. 8bit's meal sounds cool. I googled it to see what a plated version might look like and didn't find anything, Is there another name or spelling? thenewgreen, your soup looks awesome too, your meals are always great!
I have a lot going on, thus fail. Everyone makes me hungry but it's about the blend. BB and OftenBen both look blendingly delicious but 8 Bit brings the dipping delight. I will try try try for the next.
