Nothing new stood out to me this week, but 3teeth's self-titled album is finally up on Bandcamp.
i love anco, have you checked out their first album? spirits they're gone is definitely my favourite although stawberry jam is close second
Parquet Courts - Sunbathing Animals is one of the better albums of 2014 thus far. Kinda punk rock, kinda lo-fi, and all in all great.
I listened to a ton of music this week but for the life of me I'm blanking. Today I listened to: Sufjan Steven's Michigan and Bon Iver/ Bon Iver: Because they are the only two albums I have in the basement and I was down there most of the day working. In honor of mk and ecib, I listened to Flaming Lips -ONE OF THE BEST BANDS!:
Hey, I've been posting to the tag #albums. There you will find youtube videos of full-length albums I dig. Hopefully it can help you along your drive. Good luck!
First three that come to mind: Wilco -Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Belle and Sebastian -Dear Catastrophe Waitress and The Beatles -Revolver. Safe travels!
Just popped up.. I'm actually still listening to it. Death Grips - niggas on the moon featuring Bjork on all tracks. I guess.
I can't wait to listen to this after work. What's your first listen opinion of it?
awww yiss, i woke up this morning and OMG new death grips. have you checked the comment DG left on the mp3's ?
i've been on a post-rock craze this past week, although nothing "new". stuff liker Slint, Talk Talk, GY!BE and Disco Inferno
Oh yeah, F♯ A♯ ∞ is my favourite GY!BE record you should take a look at *shells (pronounced starshells i think) they got some great stuff
I've been listening to Spoon, thanks to thenewgreen. Don't know how I had never heard of them before.
A friend of mine got hired on to play keyboards and trumpet for the Dandy Warhols this summer. When they were playing a festival in Europe he met the guys in Madness. He hit it off with one of the guys and ended up tearing the town up with one of them that night, said it was a great time.
Lol, I'll tell him that. Here's one of his solo works, if you like it at all I think the album is free on bandcamp.
He is a cool guy but I think what mostly got him in the door with the madness guy is that he is affable and likes to party. When he isn't on tour he is a bartender at my work one day a week.
Old Number 7 - Devil Makes Three Indie-blues, who knew?
Edit to include* Came out of that same playlist, Corb Lund, Dig Gravedigger Dig
Also I just got linked this by a friend, Psy and Snoop Dogg, really catchy, GREAT rapping by Snoop for those who are into that kind of thing.
Sound Horizons 7th Story Concert Marchen finally arrived. The Youtube Videos of Linked Horizon's Luxendarc Kikou have been DMCA'd, so you'll have to settle for this xfade. The Bravely Default Concert is even better than the soundtrack. You do have audio only versions floating about, but they aren't nearly as good without the video and have shit audio quality and have gone through a sonic butchering, even by Youtube standards.
Some great sample treatment from Nanuq gives us a nice summer love song. Speaking of Love Stories, here's a good one. If you can make it 2 minutes and 45 seconds in, you'll feel quite a interesting build and bust of romantic emotion. "Another tale of love!", you say? This vocalist, Patrick Baker, is Indie Dance/Nu Disco's Timberlake, but it's a little cheesy at times. Great mix, though.
