You're right. The trailer is fine but it reminds me of below average sci-fi films. Immediately thought of Lucy.

The "bright" side I guess is that they're upfront about it. Now all Russian citizens know they're being spied on at all times! That's useful info.

Shit. And I thought my Makerbot was cool...

Wow Congratulations!

I'm a bit late to the party and the badges surprised me. I wondered " what could this be"?

Wonderfully surprised!

Iranian living in Iran checking in. I'm pretty sure I'm the only Iranian on Hubski.

This was beautiful to read. Thanks for sharing.

I imagine working from home is a lot like studying from home. Some of my friends would take classes in college that did not require them to actually be present in class, but rather do the work from home and just show up for the exam.

I tried that once, and failed miserably. I don't have to study much for a subject if I attend the class.; conversely, I will suck ass if I don't attend a class.

I'm guessing working from home is the same situation. It sounds fantastic and tempting to try it, but I'm sure I would get nothing done.

Elrond  ·  1609 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Did you ever say "I could do that" when looking at some modern art?

Very much so. Especially when talking about abstract painting. To me, it mostly looks like random splashes of paint which anyone can do. Although that's not saying that I don't appreciate its beauty, but I don't think it takes a great level of skill to be an abstract painter.

Modern sculptures however are a different story. Some are very abstract with no real shape you but it still requires some level of technical skill to create it, whether its working with wood or metals.

Hobby is definitely video games / Movies. As for passion, I've recently discovered that its physics, more specifically Cosmology. The problem is, I've already finished my bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I don't how to (or if I should) pursue Physics at the academic level going forward.

That's one part of I don't understand. If you despise it so much - and I agree with pretty much everything you said - why would you watch the movie?!

I'm sorry but all of these "reasons" are so shit. Who in the world likes Windows Media Center or runs a computer with 1 GB RAM?!

Elrond  ·  1638 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What does your alarm clock look like?

What makes you think your alarm clock won't betray you? I actually think they can be far more faulty than phones.

I've had bad experiences with alarm clocks, so I stick with my phone.

Wow is this seriously it? I can't believe how anyone can see this and think it was the Google's car's fault.

That's blatantly obvious.

Try telling this to your grandchildren:

" Back in my day, we used to drive a 1 ton missile that had constant explosions inside of it."

One of the few romantic films that's not cheesy and I can stand.

Elrond  ·  1648 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Dallas Buyers Club - Discussion Thread

Loved it. It completely changed my view on Matthew McConahay's acting. Honestly up to this film, I really despised his acting and the type of films he chose to take part in. Then he pulls off this and True Detective.

totally a fan now.

The Lord of The RIngs trilogy and Toy Story

Also, most people don't realize what humanity went through in order to get this photo. New Horizons traveled at a speed of 58,000 KM/h. That's the fastest THING we've ever built!

The thing is though, as he suggested Iran has had enough enriched uranium and fissile material for the passed 8 years and we didn't build a bomb. We really could have easily done that. We have the scientists and the technical capability.
