Hello All,
To my delight, insomniasexx and thenewgreen will be travelling to Detroit in mid-September, so we thought what a great opportunity to have another Hubski meetup. The meetup will take place at 8 pm at Mercury Bar at 2163 Michigan Ave, Detroit, MI 48216, in the shadow of Michigan Central Station.
If you're in the Detroit area, please come join us. We would love to see you there. As always, beer is on thenewgreen.
Due to residing in Australia, i cannot attend, but I expect you all to have a drink on my behalf.
You make living in Europe seem like a bad excuse...
I live in Europe, so I can't attend either, but Australia is is even further away if I'm not mistaken.
Oh i see, i thought you were saying that you thought i lived in Europe which confused me rather a lot.
Oh yeah, totally the same thing! Fun fact: The first time i ever travelled alone (as in, without my parents or anyone else i knew on the plane) was to Austria where i met my great uncle at the airport, who took my skiing for a week before sending me home. I was 8 years old. I have been in love with skiing ever since.
Looking forward to seeing: lil, theadvancedapes, ecib, bgood79, mk, kevinstep, jonaswildman, edisonbaines and anyone else I have forgotten. If you're in the Detroit area, please come join us. We would love to see you there. As always, beer is on thenewgreen.
nice.
I'll be there. I propose that we all explore the abandoned train station late night, scooby doo style. insomniasexx you're obviously Daphne...or Thelma.
theadvancedapes who claims to have a drivers licence says he's prebooked.
lil who is giving a shoutout to herself will give your offer her every consideration. Now if insomniasexx were willing to share the bed... although if I'm tired enough or had enough beer, I could probably sleep on a sofa... no seriously, thanks b_b -- my google map says three hours and 47 minutes door-to-door if I leave from Toronto or 3 hours and 4 minutes if I leave from Hamilton Are there any other Ontarions out there who have a driving licence???
I'm willing to share bed. Or I'll sleep on the couch. Or floor. I'm really not picky about where I sleep. I'm young any sleeping pains will be hidden by the massive hangover I expect to have.
A VIA bus arrives in Windsor at 4:26 p.m. on Saturday. Is that a possible time... I could linger around for a couple of hours if need be - or walk across the border if it's nearby. Actually it's only a half hour walk along the riverside from the train station to the bus across the border. More interestingly, a GREYHOUND bus leaves Detroit Greyhound Station at 1:15 a.m. arriving in Toronto at 6:40 a.m. The Detroit Greyhound Station seems to be on Howard Street most likely about 5 minutes taxi from the Mercury Bar, or 20 minute walk if anyone is still on their feet. I'd probably have to be there 20 minutes early. Could be doable. Yes, it seems short.
Getting to Windsor at 4:30 is no problem. I live only about 5 minutes from the border crossing. As for getting home, you can take the bus, but under no circumstances would I let anyone walk around town at that hour. I'll take you if that's what you decide to do.
Definitely! Hope to meet you katakowsj. Also, Mindwolf
Bummer, enjoy the camping trip though. See you next time
Read the post above, it will be at the Mercury Bar in Detroit. If you need a place to crash, that can likely be arranged. See ya soon punk.
tilly77, you think you and Nate can make it out to this? It would be great to see you two.
sounds_sound You should plan a corresponding trip to Ann Arbor to visit your brother. What do you think?
Well. I might be back around the New Year if it's any consolation.
Hell yes! If you let me know your dates in advance, I will ensure that we are back during your visit.
