My contribution.. It was my first time making bread. Not perfect, but I kind of eyeballed the proportions so I'm pleasantly surprised with how well it turned out.

I think there are two factors at play: some stores having shortages of bread products, and people being at home and having time on their hands to do things like bake breads, some of which take multiple steps and many hours to do. I haven’t made any bread in a long time but I do have some yeast so some loaves are probably in my future.
If you can still get flour easily, make a sourdough starter! With about a week's worth of regular attention you can have a vital yeast culture that makes delicious bread.
