Mmmmhm. He's kicking up again, and LP9 is comin out in 2016. All his crazy electronic/experimental stuff nowadays aside, the classics remain classics.
Ah, Thom Yorke. Still love all the "From the Basement" stuff
Listening now. Instantly changed my mood, in a good way. Thanks
Found these guys thanks to I think ButterflyEffect because they're on the same label as Colleen Green. So thanks for that :) Also still loving Early Riser by Taylor McFerrin.
Of course! I'm super stoked that you ran with the Colleen Green recommendation and found something that's new to you! Shannon and the Clams are great, and going through label websites is an amazing way to find a bunch of new music.
This surprised me. I tried looking into a label's roster page and found lots of artists that I liked, though I didn't discover them that way. I understand that this is a good way of finding new artists. Reminds me of the crate-digging days. Now, in 2015, as someone who doesn't buy CDs and owns mostly digital music, it's just way out of my world. BTW, I discover artists through interviews, a few blogs, internet radio, Youtube (very rarely), and Wikipedia (when I dive into an unexplored genre).
Recently Youtube has been creating playlists in my recommended section based on genres I've been listening to, which has been giving me a bunch of new stuff! It's how I found Floating Points, Taylor McFerrin and The Internet. So that's cool. Which blogs do you frequent? I'm always on the lookout for new music :)
I like digging for new music in those mixes on YT. As I wrote before, I do that when I want to listen to a new genre. Most of the time, my search starts in Wikipedia. I tried reading theneedledrop.com, but I prefer the videos. There's also this guy and a site in Portuguese I subscribe to in my RSS feed. Other than that, I read random blogs when I can't find my way into the new genre I'm interested in. This is an example.Which blogs do you frequent?
Been listening to T-Rex and some christmas albums. I had this album up on display all week on the shel in the living room, near the record player. Someone thought it was Sigourney Weaver on the cover :)
Discovered this song from the intro to a Harmontown episode - Mars Argo - Runaway.
Just dropped some new ambient jams with my friend!!! We spent all night in his basement making music until we passed out, these are some pulls from what i had recorded on my iphone. https://fivetwentyblazedoutjamsbydmanandldog.bandcamp.com/album/ambie-jammies
