This surprised me. I tried looking into a label's roster page and found lots of artists that I liked, though I didn't discover them that way. I understand that this is a good way of finding new artists. Reminds me of the crate-digging days. Now, in 2015, as someone who doesn't buy CDs and owns mostly digital music, it's just way out of my world. BTW, I discover artists through interviews, a few blogs, internet radio, Youtube (very rarely), and Wikipedia (when I dive into an unexplored genre).
Recently Youtube has been creating playlists in my recommended section based on genres I've been listening to, which has been giving me a bunch of new stuff! It's how I found Floating Points, Taylor McFerrin and The Internet. So that's cool. Which blogs do you frequent? I'm always on the lookout for new music :)
I like digging for new music in those mixes on YT. As I wrote before, I do that when I want to listen to a new genre. Most of the time, my search starts in Wikipedia. I tried reading theneedledrop.com, but I prefer the videos. There's also this guy and a site in Portuguese I subscribe to in my RSS feed. Other than that, I read random blogs when I can't find my way into the new genre I'm interested in. This is an example.Which blogs do you frequent?
