I'm already planning to start a reread of A Song of Ice and Fire, and I have downloaded the Bob Marley discography, Dave Matthews Band Discography, and a few other music albums. Any other ideas?
Podcasts! I use Podcast Addict. Find one you like, download all (or a lot) of episodes and listen to all of them in one go. They have podcasts on almost every topic out there, but some that I (am trying to) keep up with are Hello Internet, Cortex, BBC World Service - World Update, NPR: Morning Edition, NPR: All Things Considered, and Fear the Boot.
I was just going to say this. If anyone who is interested in science, like people who aren't total nerd talking about equations for forty minutes, I would recommend Star Talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson (+ Bill Nye). These guys are really humorous in their own unique ways and you get a lot from just one episode.
Note: I know it's a typo and apologize for the following but I couldn't withstand the funny difference that one single char makes. Maybe it's also just me that finds it funny, so it's probably irrelevant and ininformative to any discussion, so again, sorry. Also I don't know why I'm even writing this now, as 90% of the comment is apologizing (I hope this is without any typo). Anyway, if I typed so much of being sorry for a single sentence, which probably also isn't as fun as it was designed to be, then it's some kind legit to press the Commeny button? I also look forward to title editing after publishing the post. I highly reccomend Rocky-like music before long plane fights.
If like podcasts and music, you could try out my show. It's a vaguely nostalgic thing, like when you would ride home at night as a kid with the radio switching between talk and music: Comatose Podcast.
If you're into learning things I'd recommend the Stuff You Should Know Podcast. I'd also like to plug my affiliated podcast, The Geek Generation Podcast. In case you can't tell, I enjoy podcasts - whether its a long flight, car ride or just while out on a walk.
I just finished watching the documentary called Going Clear and book of the same name by Lawrence Wright. If you are into docs and non-fiction and learning a Iot of the history of Scientology I would highly recommend it. Another great Pulitzer winner by Wright is The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11.
Define what is long, and what devices you'll be bringing. Gaming-worthy laptop? Buy Kerbal Space Program. Only Android/iOS devices? Download the Kindle app and peruse the free e-books - there's a lot of good ones. Also, obviously, the Dark Side of the Moon album of Pink Floyd. I heard Fallout:Shelter was a good Android game. And if you're not above downloading movies (reminder: downloading music, in most places, is just as bad an offence if you haven't bought it), there's the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe that is amazing. And if you like/are open to anime, there's quite a few to try out - Paprika, Paranoia Agent, Children who chased lost voices, Patema Inverted, anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
Yeah. It gets more fun when you put people down on planets. The dV cost to extract Kerbals from a gravity well is ENORMOUS.
I downloaded a snes emulator and played some old games when I flew last. Also the album The Campfire Headphase by Boards of Canada made and excellent soundtrack for being flung through the sky.
Shadow run, banner saga, civ revolution, x com, are all great and time consuming Android games.
You may enjoy Keller WIlliams, based on the artists you listed here. Hoplite (Android/iOS) is a short but challenging turn-based game in which you attempt to navigate floors full of demons and recover the Golden Fleece. Each floor has an optional prayer shrine that grants you passive or active abilities, increased max health or full health and stamina recovery. Not sure if this is true for iOS, but on Android, the download is free, but if you want to continue playing after you grab the Fleece, then I think it's about $2 USD for the full unlock.
