I know I've asked this before but humour me. I have a 3 hour drive tomorrow and will listen to the tracks you suggest.
They just rolled through Dallas a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately I couldn't make it, but I hear once they warmed up it was an amazing show. As for my favorite song... I'd have to say that it's easily this track:
I saw them at the beginning of June. My wife and I bought tickets the day of the show because we didn't think we'd ever get another shot at seeing them. They were still great at 70. I don't know how they are all still alive.
Also, England's Newest Hitmakers, their first album, is probably my favorite and it's just great fuckin driving music. Spotify it or what have you. I really appreciate albums I can sit all the way through. Sticky Fingers is one for sure!
Carol is up there. This recording is so great. I could list a bunch but I'll just show my favorite live video. And one I think encompasses why they were so renowned for their live show (from the peak of their touring era): jumping jack flash, Texas 1971
kinda ignore mick's vocals, just listen to the keith and charlie groove. and mick taylor' solo is unreal.
Feeling a bit British in the run-up to the show, eh?
Favourite? Humour? :-)
I'm not a Stones fan, but I love Gimme Shelter. The guitar on it is just so haunting.
