This is more of a question than a bug. minimum_wage submitted a comment which was badged, and later deleted it. In the thread I see the deleted placeholder, but if I click on the badge icon it shows me what the comment was prior to it being deleted.
Is this the way that is supposed to function? Just curious.
It's not intentional, it's just the first time it's come up as far as I know. mk, forwardslash can we get it so a deleted comment/post is deleted everywhere? Good catch ButterflyEffect, thanks.
I pushed a fix for this so when you click the badge it won't show you the comment. I believe it was also showing up in the badgesub feed so I removed that as well.
I don't think it should be. The person deleted it for a reason and just because it received a badge doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to delete it. Weirdly, on my phone it said "content not found". On my computer I can see it, even in incognito. Also weirdly, if you click the badge icon from the feed it shows as deleted rather than showing the text. Definitely a bugski.
Also, surely the badge-awarder should have the ability to get her badge back if the badged comment is deleted!! One should be able to take a badge back for several reasons.
Be wary of who you badge. I don't think you should get your badge back. Lesson learned, don't badge those that are prone to comment deletion.
I LOVE badgers. Read a lot of Redwall as a kid, badgers were mythical. For some reason. Also enjoy otters ever since the one time I went to the aquarium and it looked like they were having a lot of fun playing, which was cool, and then I noticed they were fucking the hell out of each other, which was better. (I'm fuzzy on rape morality in the animal kingdom, but ... it might have been rape.)
Badges as hard to earn and therefore I'm pretty choosy about when I give them out. There are consequences to actions lil, every choice caries potential ramifications, even badging. How's that for being hard nosed ;)
Dude, my 3 year old is challenging me left and right. Not kidding. I never dreamed it would be this difficult and that my patience would be tried this much. I think it was KB I was PM'ing when I said that I deal with CEO's and CFO's on a daily basis, trying (often successfully) to change their minds and do my bidding but I can't get a 3 year old to poop on the "potty" or go to bed at night. "No!" And "Go away daddy!" Are prevalent ever since her brother was born. I'm sure these pale in comparison to what you are dealing with but damn if it isn't exhausting.
Just read this comment to my wife and she immediately cracked up laughing with empathy. At least your daughters learning how to teach and lead, right?
Her powers of manipulation are incredible. As I write this, she's yelling from her room, "daddy I need to hold you, my stomach aches." -her stomachs fine. It's hard to resist, but resist I must. Now that we have the new baby she's trying to insist on pooping only in a diaper and is constantly asking for a pacifier. Regressive behavior. I need a vacation.
