It just reads like they want to redefine 'strong encryption', claim victory in the debate, and ignore all the privacy and security concerns.

Oh yeah - total Five Eyes shit no doubt. I was lazy; it's not an about-face at all they still want their law-enforcement backdoor which is just same shit different day. They still get to be mad at Apple and Google and anyone who won't support their fishing expeditions. It's in like line 3. I feel bad.
