Been saying this for years. Whenever you read the word "millenial" in an article, substitute "kids these days." Younger consumers are opting instead for paper towels at the dinner table, The Washington Post reports. The Post points to a survey conducted by Mintel (the same company that discovered kids these days find cereal too much work to eat ) from last month, which highlights that only 56% of shoppers said that they bought napkins in the past six months. EDIT: even better EDIT AGAIN: ZOMG I'm dying Almost 40% of pesky whipper-snappers surveyed by Mintel said that cereal was an inconvenient breakfast choice, because they have to clean up after eating it, reports the New York Times.Kids these days are killing the paper napkin industry.
Why aren’t pesky whipper-snappers eating cereal? Apparently, it’s just too much work.
It makes them feel better about the fact that they're microwaving Sysco.
The regular groaning about articles like this aside, a new thing that I see is that we "don't aspire to steady jobs." Bullshit. There are no steady jobs! We don't get benefits, we don't get raises. The only way for us to get any kind of income increase is to find another job that will hopefully pay us more than the last one. I hate gig work. I want a steady paycheck. I want affordable healthcare. I want to be able to save for retirement. I want to make a higher effective wage than I did last year. What the hell is wrong with the people who write these articles?
