we could survive the six weeks until he commits an impeachable offense.

This has been my mantra for several months. I almost want him to win... just to watch him get impeached 90 days in for some rule that he doesn't like or doesn't understand. And then he'll cry about it and his supporters will riot in the streets about why the constitution or some other law needs to be changed...

It's a train wreck that none of us can look away from.

You fail to acknowledge that Hillary committed a known felony and nobody is willing to go after her. Trump getting impeached for something he may do is a lot less likely than Hillary getting impeached for something she already has done.

Yawn...

All kinds of goverment officials have been caught doing the same thing as Hillary. It's widely acknowledged that the governments email systems suck. Generals, ambassadors and more have all been called out for the same "felonies."

Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice used private email servers despite it being a "felony."

The whole thing is just a bit of fun that congressional committies like to have from time to time.

I guess my point was more that he would get away with it the same way Hillary did. I don't think normal laws apply to politicians and I'm not sure you could get anything to stick to either one considering how partisan our system has become. His or her supporters will always have cognitive dissonance sort of like what you guys are demonstrating here.

What cognitive dissonance?

Maybe you aren't talking about me?

Hillary is the only person who is facing any trouble in reference to this particular "felony" out of the probably hundreds of thousands who have committed the same infraction. The same thing happened to a few Bush officials back in the day for the same exact same "crimes." If the opposing party of the president held a significant majority in congress and had a solid impeachable offense they would get a piece. If Hilary went down for the this there would be a necessary blood bath of other officials who are doing the same thing all the time. We're talking both sides of the aisle, ambassadors, generals, joint chiefs, cabinet heads and more.

The real crime here is that the IT tools government officials have to perform their necessary work suck sweaty dog balls, everyone knows it and incentivises people to ignore the rules all across the government.

I don't think Trump is any more likely to commit an impeachable offense than any other president. I think there is a good chance he would say a bunch of stupid shit. All the whiny, going to leave the country, he is the same as Hitler, he'll surly get impeached liberal bullshit annoys me to no end.

can't get impeached for something you did before taking office. so when you get right down to it, option one is way more likely.

The email thing is super-easy to spin, though. For starters, nobody really understands it, but they know that they don't trust the NSA, either.

To an external observer it looks remarkably like Whitewater, which ended up costing $80m and led to nothing more substantive than Monica Lewinsky. Meanwhile, every Republican in charge of that dumpster fire has either been busted for infidelity or legit child molestation.

Clinton's husband was literally impeached and his approval rating went up to 73 percent. If the Republicans could make this whole email server thing stick they would have done it six months ago.
