And what's your favorite thing about hubski?
And last thing (I have so many questions): Is it hubski or Hubski?
Almost everyday. However, there are weekend days that I don't visit at all. It's important to have some balance in what you do, and it wouldn't be good for the site if I couldn't go a day or two without visiting. Comments to the effect that you all appreciate hubski for the quality of interactions that you find mean far more to me than any user metric. It's funny that such a statement might be difficult to believe. We have this internet that lets everyone in the world connect, but by-and-large every effort is to concentrate upon the quantity of those connections rather than the quality. Hell, we have the ability to provide input, but even then, the majority of platforms are designed around a one-to-many one-way type of communication. I've said it countless times, but this place is about something that I wanted to exist. I enjoy talking to you all, and the ability to share my thoughts with people that are looking to have a conversation. I actually prefer hubski, but recall that I thought it seemed a bit pretentious when I was making the decision for site text.
I find myself visiting hubski more often every day since the day I registered, unfortunately I get most of the replies while I'm sleeping (except for yours and c_hawkthorne's reply). Discussion seems to go a bit slower for me than the rest of the users.
I come on every day. It is a tab on my phone that I check throughout the day. I'll read and share a few things a day. I rarely comment or post though, and most of my comments are just little posts on the weekly music threads. Just the way I use hubski I guess. My favorite thing about hubski is the people. They're all so genuine and awesome. Everyone on here is so personable and knowledgeable on their own topics. It has been great getting to know all the users, new and old in my time here. And in regards to your last question, I tend to go lowercase, but I don't think it matters much. Or just call it the greatest and nicest website ever.
Thank you, I will try to come here more often but just like you, I rarely comment or post. I'm going to use lowercase for hubski, it looks better.
I don't come on all that often. With college back in full swing, I generally don't spend so long killing time online. Also, Hubski moves quite slowly pretty much always, but being on GMT makes it move way, way slower. A lot of the active contributors will be asleep when I'm awake. Things tend to pick up quite a bit just before I go to sleep though.
I promise to do my best to suffer from insomnia more frequently and contribute in the middle of the night so users like you and FuzzyWords have people to interact with. I'm a team player that way. ;)
Don't do it, I sleep about 5 or 6 hours per day to be awake for people like you who post at night :D
I'm UTC-3 and I get most of the replies when I'm sleeping.
For me, about once a day, after work I have the tab open on my computer and I'll scroll through things throughout the evening. I find things a lot slower than Reddit (where I emigrated from), but I kind of like that. The thought that goes into the comments and discussion here is far an above any other place I've visited on the internet. You do get a sense for who people are, not just their handle. That might be a case of fewer people so you see certain names more often but I like to think it's the calibre of the people here that keeps me around. And I've always just used hubski!
Is there a way to see your account age? The discussions here are a bit intimidating for someone like me, English is not my first language and I feel like I need more vocabulary. I come from Voat, and I went to Voat from reddit. I still visit those two sites and I'm a lot more active on Voat, now I added hubski and chutter to my list of sites I visit regularly. I don't know why but I can't just abandon a site, I accumulate them.
Yes, I have. I wanted to know what zen mode was and forgot to disable it again.
I have hubski set as my home page. First thing I see every time I open my browser. Same goes with my phone. I usually check in on what's been happening in the morning when I wake up. Then several times at work when I get a minute. Then when I get home. Honestly not a lot changes between these times, but sometimes something new and incredible pops up :) When I'm here I don't really comment or post all that much. I just like to see what you all have to say. Sometimes I might contribute (particularly to the Pubski and weekly threads), but I feel like a lot of the time I don't have much worthwhile to contribute. So I'm happy just lurking and sharing. Like everyone else commenting, I agree that the best thing about hubski is the community. People here aren't trying to get into pointless arguments with each other and the self-moderation tools are really awesome!
I never changed my homepage, I'm weird, I still have Google but I don't let it load and instead type whatever I want to visit. I like the self-moderation tools here too.
Probably once every one or two days. I don't have enough time to dedicate to hubski, especially considering the usual level of depth and comprehension necessary to contribute here. It's nice reading what everyone has to say, though, so I spend a lot of time lurking.
We are two now, I will try to ask simple questions more often so everyone can participate.
The people here are very welcoming. I don't enjoy reading the news (or watching them on TV), I only come here to talk with nice people and improve my English.
I have the tab open daily and when I have time I also skim my feed a couple of times a day. Sometimes that or less is what I do for a week or two, sometimes there are topics that really spark my interest and then I read/comment on 2-3 or more threads a day for a couple of days. I'm not really making myself contribute just for the sake of it, which makes me a sinus wave user :D Regarding the favorite thing I have to join c_hawkthorne and say the people. The people, and obviously the discussions that come out of it. In every discussion you will have a lot of profound opinions with arguments and quite often with that a nice debate. If I want to take people more seriously and read something else than the easily digestible stuff I'm reading most of the day, I'm coming here. And I'm with you regarding the spelling: The faq writes it Hubski, but I also prefer hubski, just because it looks better imho.
