I think of this scene whenever I drive through an underpass. Sometimes I even mention that fact to whomever else is in the car, and usually they not only agree that the underpass is like this sequence in Akira, but also add a comment about what an amazing sequence it is.
I just watched the sequence through and there's no underpass. I love human brains.
You ever see a film called My Neighbor Totoro when you were a kid? My wife bought it for my daughter, it's great. Its by Written by Hayao Miyazaki. No motorcycles, but it does have a giant cat-bus.
I don't know how kid friendly it is but please check out Song of the Sea and then maybe let her watch it. I dunno what happened to me (I developed empathy) but I'm a blubbery mess when it comes to these movies now. I cried like a baby at the end of this one, no lie.
You should have her check out the Gruffalo and then the Gruffalo's child. Both are pretty fantastic. I was shocked by how much my daughter likes Totoro. She's enamored.
Check out this bike scene from Zankyou no Terror.
