Blush Response - Desire Machines
The Devil & The Universe - Haunted Summer
Project Pitchfork - Blood. Couldn't find anything but crappy live videos to stream, but it sounds like Project Pitchfork. Here's Rain from the last album.
I've been listening to a lot of classic albums this week
Troye Sivan - Happy LIttle Pill I've heard this song a few times and always enjoyed it but then I listened to the lyrics. It's deep. I relate. Stuff like that. Like. Man...yes. Yes. This guy gets it. I'm sure there are a lot of people that can relate to it. It covers a lot. Depression, drugs, addiction, feeling disconnected from the world around you, etc. Lil Dicky - Lemme Freak (also posted today here: https://hubski.com/pub?id=181439) Zoën - Be Careful of What You Wish For (feat. Astronautalis) MAGIC! - Rude You know how everyone has their weird little sayings and stuff? Well, my boy says "that's rude" or "you're so rude" or "stop being rude." Usually it's when he talks to his dog. It's really hard to explain. Anyways, when I first heard this song I was laughing so hard because this entire song is basically saying "rude" in the same way he does. So I sent him the link on youtube and said, "lol this is totally your song." But I didn't watch the video and I had only listened to the song once and hadn't really listened to the lyrics at all. His natural reaction was "am I that unpresentable?* Oops. Backtrack. Rude is by the same guys who have Don't Kill The Magic, which I've thoroughly listened to too much. Pretty much the anthem of my summer. I don't care what we're doing as long as it keeps going and it's happy. MAGIC! - Don't Kill The Magic Insert a ton of Alt-J here Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness - Cecilia and the Satellite (the rest of that youtube mix is pretty good too. I just happened to stumble on that link first) If you have spotify - Hozier's Live version of Take Me To Church is really good - even if you're burnt out on the song.
Counting Crows - Scarecrow Sie7e - So What So another funny story with this one. This song will stick with you. Like really stick with you. And it came on while I was banging and I was drunk as shit which is when my Spanish tends to really come back to me and I finally figured out what the lyrics meant and I was just like "d'awwwww." The boy was confused.
The breakdown at around 2:15 is one of the best parts of this song. Chet Faker's live sessions are amazing, and I'd love to see him cover some Otis Redding. And then there's Vulfpeck's discography which I've been exploring for a few weeks. Groovy band that sometimes has guest vocalists. I went to see Snarky Puppy in Raleigh on Thursday. They put on an amazing show. One of the best I've seen.
I'ma go old-school on ya'll. This track has burned a groove in my brain with its killer sax riffs; it's a love song to the sea, and it's also the theme song to a great kiwi TV series, "Outrageous Fortune". Ladies and gentlemen, I present : Hello Sailor's "Gutter Black"
Really digging Shakey Graves lately, went back and re-listened to some of his live stuff and his albums. Can't wait for And the War Came! Also been listening to Crooked Cowboys & the Freshwater Indians. Lovin' it.
Some sort of weird combination of Speedy Ortiz, Tiny Moving Parts, and Twin Peaks (yes, they're a band and they rock). Trying to find something to match my mood right now, which is mostly ecstatic. It's been a great day so far.
Hyperparadise as remixed by Flume - a song really easy to groove and dance to. No Diggity by Chet Faker - a soulful cover of a classic r n b hit.
Someone posted this to their facebook wall. Totally phenomenal, two legendary soloists. The second movement in particular is gorgeoous.
I've been listening to Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot.
Magic Sam, West Side Soul. Got that special sound.
