I propose an amendment -

change from "HubskiSpeak" to "HubSpeak" - in reference to "NewSpeak"; George Orwell, 1984.

pushka  ·  3200 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Do some words bother you?

The only words I hate the sound of are: Faggot, Nigger and Cunt. - because of everything that is tied to them in my mind.. I don't think the world would be a worse place without them..

I also find the world phablet annoying..

pushka  ·  3218 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Whats your dream job?

I have one goal and one life purpose.

That is to be a world famous film director.

It will take years or decades to get there, but I will march towards my goal every day and reach it, or die trying - nothing else matters.

pushka  ·  3219 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: 20 years from now what will you have wish you had done?

I had a realization of my life purpose 2 days ago; I will now work towards my goal every day until I die or reach it. I'll have no regrets in 20 years.

pushka  ·  3210 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What's your favorite question?

"Are you gay?" or "I hope I'm not going to offend you, but..."

I love talking about sexuality and my experiences, and hearing about other people's reality and way of thinking, their opinions and feelings - but I only like all this when the people are open to discussion and or interested - so I never bring any of it up.

It's both my favourite, and I wish people would ask it more.

Fav answer (that I give, since I don't generally ask other people) - "yeah, I'm a flaming homo" (though I usually say something boring like.. 'yes.')

- and - "Sure, no worries, ask or say anything ~ "

Why - because it informs and opens up to interesting things, anthropological studies, and sharing - perhaps educating and enlightening.

pushka  ·  3210 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What are you reading this week?

I'm reading Animal Farm by George Orwell - just finished 1984 ;__; it was amazing, In my mind, f.451 and ClockworkOrange are in the same universe - and the chronology is:

C.Orange first - one of the other two spoke of 'violence in the past' - I feel like C.O. is most like our society today - with oblivious and hedonistic youth; Then would be F.451 - which is again, like our day - but with more extremist control; luxury based capitalism with secret war undertones - and then moving into 1984 where there is a polar shift from capitalism to ingsocialism and more complete control from another angle.

pushka  ·  3216 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why this Reddit revolt will fail, just like every other one

Yeah ~ I mean Digg.com still exists, right?~ http://digg.com/..

..oh wait no.. it doesn't exist.. it's a blog now...

Yeah, even though I may have unconsciously fallen victim of the Reddit system, I still can't be hostile to it, since it has opened me up to amazing things, hobbies, creative works and philosophies/ mirrors to my inner workings

Eg: fountain pens, calligraphy, wicked_edge straight razor shaving, INTJ, short scary stories, LGBT subs, minimalism, atheism (I know everyone in the world hates the atheism sub, but after 23 years of being a conservative fundamentalist Seventh-day Adventist Christian, I needed an outlet for my anger and frustration)

Someone mentioned that INTJ had really good spelling and grammar compared to other subs, and maybe it's because of the mainstream-ness,

here's to hubski ~ may it be civil and thoughtful ever into the bright and majestic day ~~

Thanks for responding and leaving an eloquent rebuttal ~ I can see your point, and though I'd like the option anyway, will continue enjoying hubski's awesomeness while it lasts; and if it ever disappears.. We can start our own hubski ... With... Additional stuff....

Yeah.. Echo chambers can be fun for meeting like minded people, learning about the subject, but living in one isn't the best.. No opinion should be so fragile that it needs constant justification and support..

Also #edit # a prominent user for one person is a bland user for another, it's optional sharing of moderation - there is no marginalizing, each user would still be in control, still be moderating and could switch and change and test their filtering .. In my opinion..

pushka  ·  3207 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why are you so angry?

I heard about this in regards to religion and people's interaction when religion is on topic.

It seems that the default state for being part of a religion, (or I suppose political party) - is that there is a tiny minority which is the adult/dictator - and everyone else is the studious child - nodding and agreeing. There is never (at least from my experience) - any adult to adult interaction, because by definition, the main subject (preacher, person discussing and considering from their own perspective) - has the supreme authority on behalf of the deity, and so they are at the top, and others who are learning from them or arguing with them aren't as enlightened as ones-self.

If a religious person with actual belief in the book are talking to a non-believer or person of other religion - then they are the adult and the other is an ignorant child, a child acting like an adult, which needs to be shut down without angering them (from their perspective)

If two peers are discussing - then they either have the same belief, and so are both children to the belief or acting as an adult in tandem and everyone else is the child; or if they have differing beliefs, then they are adult-child, and may switch roles at times through the conversation.

Thoughts? these are my feelings and experiences~

I only really /want/ to re-watch movies if I love them, and they are few and far between,

All in all - probably it was more of a thing as a kid - maybe "A bug's life" or "chicken run"

Man I love those films - such interesting emotions and jokes - and I watched them so much the lines almost don't register as words - but structures of sounds, like music - eternally etched into my brain

Most watched movie in the cinemas: The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring.

Oh.. my god. I was in absolute heaven when it came out - The Hobbit was my favourite book, I had read the trilogy - and just .. the music and colour and , ahg, (I think 3 times, not that crazy - I woke up boxing day - walked to the local cinema, bought tickets for my family for later on in the day, and went back home - hahaha - saw all 3 opening day/night, then another time I just went and watched it again by myself, because love..

Most watched recently back to back: I can watch my 3 fav films (KillBill Vol. 1, SinCity 1, Amelie) whenever, but not continuously - but I only ever had compulsion/ withdrawals, wanting to watch a film every day for a little while: Scott Pilgrim vs the World @u@ I love the everything.. the music, colour, cute-ass actors and story~

From this year - Fiji/ Summer - Self Portrait - The 15 photos I took

It's currently high-winter in Australia/Sydney - so I was a bit freezing last night and this morning crashing at a friends place after an awesome games-night and D&M-sesh with 2 peeps afterwards~

Yeah I really feel this way It's like a last bastion of hope and sanity especially if you're in a closed religious community And yeah , being stuck in any circle-jerk community for long enough probably isn't the best..

Yeah ~ things change and people often only like how it used to be,,

I've only seen the 1st season of DeathNote, but I loved it a lot @u@

pushka  ·  3111 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What are your favorite television series and why?

Adventure Time - It's ridiculous at times, has some heavy moments, mixtures of emotions (like strange/gross/creepy/cute/etc)

Black Books - U.K. amazingness~ go watch it now~ @u@

Community - College! woo~

Freaks and Geeks - When I was young, I resonated with the geeks, I watched the series recently and resonated with Lindsay and her friends, also their conservative parents/ family/ family friends

Invader Zim - It's ridiculous and dark~

Death Note - Introvert battle of wits, world domination, adorable vampire guy living in a basement

Azumanga Daioh - It's made of cute, and funny/ crazy/ subtle/ humour at times

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Because I'm a gay hipster man and why the hell not; is cute, I love some recesses of the community - first and only escapades into a fandom~

Black Mirror/ Walking Dead/ GoT - Holy crap, finally the s***ty TV bubble has burst, and companies are making something awesome and then having a monopoly on viewership and competing with whatever follows suit - these episodes are like movie-quality, awesome~ yay darkness, violence and feeling things ~
