Even with the prologue the amount of expletives just make it seem vapid. 'Hey look, I said fuck, look how much stronger my message is now.' I might have to check out his book 'The Humans' though, seems intriguing.

You're right of course. I read around the f**k filler for the content and found it more interesting than my friend flagamuffin. I'm more with StJohn. Here's my comments:

#5 I will miss the semi-colon. It does seem to be an elitist punctuation mark. I imagine I can live without it.

#1 Probably true. After publishing, it's on to the next project.

#6 Not sure about the Twitterers -- but there is more and more and more writing going on, and probably more reading too.

#8 I find this true and intimidating. The desire is to make them laugh and cry and cry some more and laugh some more. It is really hard to do this. I do it occasionally... and am happy briefly.

#9 I agree with this.

#10 This is a good reminder. It reflects what Vonnegut wrote, "Make every character want something, even if it is only a glass of water."

Still looking for an interesting #todayswritingprompt Lots of inspiration from humanodon and elsewhere.

By the way, how's your thesis writing coming?

Yeah, I pretty much agree with all your comments. Though I do like the use of the semi colon sometimes, it can add nice flow to your writing. Though it certainly does have an elitist air around it.

By my thesis do you mean my dissertation for the third year of my uni course? If so, it's completed and all my marks are back for this year. I got my personal highest mark for it, and I believe the highest mark in the class! I got 78, which equates to a first class honours, and it may have pushed me high enough for that mark overall. So I'm pretty chuffed.

It was entitled "How Has The Coming of Digital Age Changed Approaches To Music and Composition? A look into how technology has affected the technical and psychological aspects of making music". I'll post it up here once all the marks have officially cleared if you're interested? Though it's a good 9,000 - 10,000 words.

I disagree. "Though I do like the use of..." is a modifying clause (by virtue of the 'though') and not a complete thought; it, therefore, reads best with a comma.

I had to delete my whole comment. Nothing is looking right to me this morning. Thanks for questioning my "correction."
