Today brings a new way to discover content on Hubski: global posts.
Previously, to find content outside of your feed, you had to peruse either ‘popular’ or ‘unshared’ posts. However, many users commented that this design left a feeling of a ‘gap’ between the unshared and most popular posts on Hubski.
In fact, gq~ and I had a discussion about this yesterday, and she suggested a very nice solution.
To improve the ability for users to browse the greater Hubski ecosystem, we have replaced the ‘popular’ and ‘unshared’ pages with a ‘global’ post page.
Clicking on the ‘global’ link in the left menu will bring you to a time-sorted list of all posts that are not in your feed. These global posts are divided by their popularity. Clicking the hubwheels on the upper right will return global posts with the respective popularity.
As always, feedback is welcome.
p.s. In your ‘controls’ you can select to have some global posts filter into your feed. We replaced the term ‘external’ with ‘global’.
Hello, mk. I noticed the update and finally decided to make an account after a little less than two weeks of 'lurking.' Also, thank you for the update, it was strange that the 'popular' and 'unshared' sections had most of the same posts. Two more things: Is there a way to acces hubski comments without going through 'tabs,' and what is the meaning of the 404 page?
"You are standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door. There is a small mailbox here."
Thanks, HDmoneyblox10. Welcome aboard! 1) Yes, click the comment bubble with the number next to it. 2) Click the house for adventure. :)Two more things: Is there a way to acces hubski comments without going through 'tabs,' and what is the meaning of the 404 page? What a nice change mk, great work. gq, fantastic idea. It's simple, clean and easy to understand. I look forward to searching for content in the middle for a change. Very cool.
Very nice indeed. Great idea. Thanks for all this mk.
I'm guessing when you changed the external posts filter on the controls page it reset the preference previously chosen as mine went from none to many.
