My boss's boss could only make part of a meeting and asked me to sit in on the rest and take notes. During that meeting, someone introduced themselves as a new team leader at the CDC's local quarantine station. I applied for similar roles this past summer and was referred to the hiring manager but never heard back, which is a shame because what an absolute dream job it would be working with shit like that. Well during yesterday's meeting when the new guy introduced himself he mentioned they were hiring one more. Sent him a cold email after work mentioning that is a dream job of mine, and he wants to forward my resume to the hiring team (he's too new to hire himself) and follow -up next week.
Thanks, boss! Way to take initiative on that. Hope it gets your somewhere.
ya know one of the more concerning parts of reddit or maybe the internet at large(?)? seems to me that most internet-ees are utterly incapable of understanding that other people have different lived experiences than they do.
IF: the online environment is more welcoming than the offline environment for people on the spectrum, people leading alternative lifestyles and people who otherwise don't do well with people AND: the online environment has grown increasingly hostile to everyone THEN: there will be a steadily increasing concentration of people on the spectrum, people leading alternative lifestyles and people who otherwise don't do well with people Online is dying. The freaks will be the ones to turn out the lights. Bluesky’s biggest selling points are things it doesn’t doI’d argue the only identity Bluesky has right now is a place of refuge for people who thrived on older declining social platforms and had to move on, but don’t like any of the newer ones.
