A song I recorded tonight. I have moved in to a new home. We are going to build me a recording studio but the reality is that this is at least 6 months to a year away. sounds_sound has graciously offered to design it for me. I am beyond excited.
But... right now, my recording space is right next to my kids rooms. I woke up my daughter while singing. The result is me whisper-singing. I wish I could just have my own space. I want to make the music I hear in my head and I haven't been able to.... EVER.
It's frustrating. Anyways, here are the lyrics to Albino Deer.
I once saw an albino deer
So strange but so much prettier
When all the pieces fit
I want to get rid of it
One time I cut my finger tip
I sat and watched the blood drip
When all your life is safe
Somehow it diminishes
We have to bleed
We have to burn
Sometimes it’s the strangest ones
That glow and beg your eye
Sometimes to live is to lie
You’re the strangest one I have ever seen
Your beauty grows like a cancer in me
lil steve I played hockey. And.. I miss you two. Hope you are both holding up. You're awesome people.
Thank you, Steve. I originally had some rhythm guitar and lead guitar tracks on this and it was super lame. I muted them and then the vocal melody and lyrics came to me. I was thinking about how so many people are attracted to the same thing, but I find the most beautiful things to be different or “flawed.” mk chopping off his finger also made it in there. :) As always, thanks for listening.
Quick note: I initially listened on my phone speaker next to my ear (because it was kinda late and didn't want to wake up my wife). Today I'm listening on headphones and it's like.... REALLY loud. So the mix may need to come down overall. I'm at about 40% volume and it's enough. 60% or above hurts. I just did a side by side with another song - at the same volume... this mix is a little hot.
