This, less than a sign of the NFL being a thing that is corrupt and influencing it's will on people, is a sign that the NFL is going to die in the future as people slowly become more aware of the dangers of football and opt out of it in interest of their own selves. Others may not, and I don't believe it is the parent's right to deny their kids that choice. That is fine, and if it's really as bad as it seems, people will stop watching as well when they realize they watch the player's slow deaths. Demand will fade, and like all things, football will morph into something new, and something better.
Parents deny their children's choices all the time. At least if they're any good at it.and I don't believe it is the parent's right to deny their kids that choice.
Yeah, choices like "go out with friends and do drugs all night" not "I want to dedicate my life to becoming X or Y." If a kid wants to dedicate themselves to a sport or a job or an activity of any form, a parent should only be able to attempt to discourage them with argument, not with force or threat. Your kid's choices are not yours to make for them, and they never will be.
That's true to a large extent, but not for something that's actively harmful. I wouldn't let my kid dedicate his or her life to playing in traffic, either.
I don't think demand is fading though. The NFL has never been more profitable
Gave up watching Boxing and MMA for just this reason.Others may not, and I don't believe it is the parent's right to deny their kids that choice. That is fine, and if it's really as bad as it seems, people will stop watching as well when they realize they watch the player's slow deaths.
