What struck me about this is how this method could be used to make truly alien characters. You have a "writer" who is truly without baggage. I've always hated in sci-fi how AIs or aliens are at best weird people. Sure, there're some opportunities there to talk about the human condition, but we as humans will never be able to divorce ourselves from our own identities enough to create something totally different. This does just that. It's also fearless. It's not worried about whether people get it, in a way no human can ever be. It's funny, really, that an AI could really be more "free" in the creative sense than a person. I also liked thinking of the dialogue as being almost incomprehensible simply because it's from the future. The English of the 2300s will likely sound at least as awkward to us as the English of Shakespeare. There're actually a couple of truly beautiful lines in this too. I knew exactly what she meant. He looks at me, and throws me out of his eyes.
I honestly love this a lot. I like to let my predictive text ramble sometimes and I really like the concept of running it through a sci-fi algorithm. The acting is also awesome; working around the broken language and being able to portray emotion through mostly garbled sentences is really innovative.
That reminded me of a time when a friend of mine and I texted in person. We had one requirement: we could not look at the phone while typing. Some really random stuff came out of simple messages. Give it a try some time it's good for a laugh if nothing else!
If nothing else, this is an awesome display of the power of acting. Good acting can take nonsensical dialogue and make it emotive. There are some good performances in here. I genuinely enjoyed watching this. Had it not been for the knowledge that it was written by an algorithm, I would have thought it rubbish. But... I guarantee that there would be people that would have thought it high art. Thanks for sharing
