Other than that, this one is done. Any suggestions are always welcome.
Struck Dumb by: The New Green
just tell it like it is
you hate to see her cry
but you love to see she's human
you just take it on the chin
you're so used to letting go
your grasp is soft and lazy
Maybe I'm too slow
Maybe I'm struck dumb
Maybe you're the last friend
I ever should have called
We're naked in the sun
Look at what we've done
Our live's on exhibition
Do you see how slow we move
Can you taste the empty spoon
The metal of the morning
Maybe I'm too slow
Maybe I'm struck dumb
Maybe you're the last friend
I ever should have called
I've been thinking about
The time we met
I've been wondering where
Those two went
I've been thinking about
Our first kiss
I've been wondering if it still exist
Now my amateur two cents: The song seems to be predominantly reside in the higher tone levels. If I were mixing this I would raise the levels of the bass track. I could barely hear it. (Though it could be these crappy earbuds I use at work) Strings are not a bad idea though I would not go for it. The raspy guitar and raising the bass levels (See how my ideas intertwine?) gives it more of a bluesy, smoky bar room feel. Even though smoky bar rooms don't really exist any more. I think a female backing vocal would really add to the track.
Because it's hard to hear these songs with a fresh pair of ears, I really appreciate the feedback. I do take such things in to consideration. Female backing vocal -- I'll look in to that too. Great advice!
