Alright, this sounds pretty awesome now. Moody. Could use some more strings throughout.... violinist others...?
Calling on all Hubski musicians, who wants to add the next part to this song? Anyone can participate, just let us know. Just download the mp3 and overdub on top of it. It's old-school. Here is the first song:

Anyone that wants to be removed from this list, let me know. Thanks to Willchill for the musician list. Also ANY OF YOU can upload a track of your own and ask us to add to it. It's a blast!
So this took me a really long time to actually get to, but I added some violin parts. I also exported both the full version and a version with only the violin, in case someone else has made a version since I downloaded the song. Sorry about the lousy recording quality—I'm just recording on the built-in mike from my MacBook Air. Here's the full version:
And here's the violin only version:

It's awesome seeing, visually, where I can expect new sounds via the soundcloud embed. I love the parts! It leaves me wanting more which is a good thing. The string in the middle section are awesome and give it some momentum and movement. Thank you!!!! Please feel free to add to any of the old tracks too!
I'd be interested in working on adding a trumpet part to this tomorrow. Sounds good so far!
keep your part separate so that when guthrie adds in his part you can add in your part on top! We don't have someone compiling it all, so we have to keep ourselves halfways organized.
Trumpet is one of my favourite sounds ever. I use it a lot on my albums.
You tell me? I sure think so. Do you hear parts? If so, go to town. Just be sure and "call it" that you are up next so that two people aren't working on it at the same time.
Hey, you totally should. There was definitely a click track. How much I stuck to it.... ? Still, you should record some drums/percussion that would be great. Be sure to record atop the version that violinist posted below. It's the most recent. Cheers!
The guitar sounds pretty done, don't think I'd be much help there. Edit re: Lyrics thenewgreen can you send them to me? Maybe I could try a vocal backing/harmony, see what comes out?
I would LOVE to collaborate on this, but here's my issue - I play a cajon, which is essentially a wooden box, with absolutely zero digital qualities whatsoever. I wouldn't even know how to begin contributing to this.
They have these new things now, they're really great, they're called microphones. You can place them several feet away from your wooden box and they'll pick up the sound vibrations, and send them to a computer. In the computer they're magically transformed to a digital wave, which you can then manipulate. It's the future!
I don't have a microphone, let alone a quality one that would allow me to insert a track into the song without an obvious difference in sound quality. Dick. Suddenly I don't really have an interest in providing anything to this. Thanks for the red flag.
Dude, my apologies, sincerely. I know you know what a microphone is and digital recording. It was meant as a joke. If it made you upset enough to call me a dick, then I need to re-examine how I'm writing things. Sincerely, sorry about that. Last thing I want to do is be spreading negativity. Had we been belly to belly and I said that, you would have laughed with me. Sorry it didn't come across that way.
I'd love to add a uke part, but I'm horrible at tuning by ear. Can someone help me with the chord progression, that'd be much appreciated! This is such an awesome idea, and I'd love to be able to add to it!
Sorry, I'm not sure how to do tabulation for the beginning section, but here's all the section with vocals. G C
Have you noticed your face is not the same

No longer standing with your eyes raised to the sky

Just saw this. Nice work!! Also, your violin parts are fantastic. I've been enjoying them.
