I realized that my gaming habits changed in the last months - While I was a huge fan of indie games before, my interests are slowly drifting solely towards triple-A games and mainstream gaming.
Let's hear some recommendations!
Transistor is coming out May 20th, from the creators of Bastion. I'm super hyped for that. That soundtrack...unph. Ys: Memories Of Celestia is a pretty niche Action-RPG. Very fast-paced, solid story.
it's not "lesser known" in the circles I'm in, so i don't know if it counts, but The Binding of Issac: Rebirth is something I'm really stoked for.
F*CK that game (the original). It's level of addictiveness is so wrong and evil :) I've wasted so much time on that (and FTL). Virtual gambling at it's finest!
Totally buying this when it comes out.
Ever played "Cook, Serve, Delicious"? it's so meditative.
It's a remake plus almost a doubling of items, passive abilities, trinkets etc. As well, more of the passives and trinkets have synergies with one another (for good or ill, depending on the combo). the original game was built in Flash, and, love it as I do, it's glitchy as fuck. it just does things that Flash was never designed to do. When they made the "Wrath of the Lamb" expansion, and tried to compile it for the first time, it just imploded, and they had to spend a few months recovering the code and jerry-rigging it to compile. So, to avoid that, they're basically rebuilt the game from the ground up in a new programming language (no idea which), given it a facelift, and added in a shit-ton of new stuff. AND, if you own the original Issac when it comes out, they're giving people a "ownership" discount.
Clockwork Empires, a...colony simulator, sort of like Sim City meets Dwarf Fortress, with multiplayer, procedurally generated customized buildings, a fascinating development blog, a Victorian-era science theme and cults to the ancient old ones. Double Fine's Hack N' Slash, a old-school-zelda-like hack and slash, with actual hacking. SportsFriends- a collection of 4 local multiplayer games, looks super great. Radio the Universe - super cool style, sort of a cyberpunk-zelda game Choice Chamber - a game inspired by TwitchPlaysPokemon OlliOlli - skateboarding super-fun Curse of the Necrodancer - roguelike dungeon delve rhythm game playable with guitars and dancepads Gods Will Be Watching point and click thriller with despair and stuff Darkest Dungeon - RPG about the stresses of dungeon crawling, humanity, and psychology Hyper Light Drifter 2d action rpg, looks pretty, sounds pretty. Also lots of board games. People should like board games more.
I've heard "Monument Valley" is cool, and it's coming to Android soon. Looks pretty.
Limit Theory is a game I am looking forward to. The only problem I currently have with it is will it be interesting enough to keep on playing.
the Key and the Gate is coming out soon a 4d rogue-like were you play Yog Sothoth
A common problem in games with omnipresent characters. The solution is both genius and really silly.

Slash Diablo patch 1.14, a mod for Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction
Mighty No. 9. It's a MegaMan clone by the original MegaMan creators. Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Basically Skyrim set in the real world, 1350AD, no dragons. The Universim. A planet sim, kinda like the last stage of Spore, or maybe Sim Earth. It isn't funded yet, but I'm probably the most hyped about this one. I love sims, and their video looks great.
Freedom Planet Its a fast paced sonic typed game. Its out now and totally recommend it.
