Hi, welcome to my page.

I'm doommaggot, a software developer, esports fan and reddit jewish communist lizard moderator.

If you want to know more, talk to me. Just because I use the vampire hubski-style doesn't mean I bite... much :)

I'm worried about the future of Hubski if it continues to gain new users. I don't think the site is set up well to stop the lowest common denominator from dominating and crowding everything else out. Not that long ago I avoid participating as much as I could have because I was worried about reducing the quality of the discussion that goes on here. Not any more though.

Posts like the following ones which are dismissive of minority group opinions getting shared so much could discourage these groups from using the site. If it wasn't for user-inactivated providing some much needed discourse then the comments would fit in 100% on Reddit or Youtube or 4chan. I'm not sure whether I should add a supportive comment there and add yet another white person's thoughts on the matter, or let members of minority groups speak for themselves.

That's great to hear. What pronouns do you use?

Reddit's /r/SandersForPresident is likely responsible for those results. I wouldn't trust those results to represent the average voter's opinion.

Everything from science points either to determinism or randomness being in charge. Neither of those are compatible free will.

Yes because that's the message of the video /S

There's a difference between censorship and choosing not to do something because it's a stupid idea.

I don't know I wasn't paying too much attention to it, but a lot of younger Kiwis don't seem to like the union jack because they see New Zealand as it's own thing. I'm not too sure about what older peeps thing though.

doommaggot  ·  3396 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: What's your choice for New Zealand's new flag?

I think Australia should be the ones dropping the Union Jack rather than us to be honest. Or maybe we could leave the commonwealth first.

Actually that's not the case, women are often less trusted then men when they say they are feeling pain. Source

Could make a competition out of that. The most ridiculous shoehorn for the Cecil lion event.

No I do not think that sexism doesn't affect men. Pretty much not a single person in the entire world thinks this. Longer jail sentences for the same crime is a classic example of this in action. How men who are victims of domestic abuse are treated by people is another one.

You and any of the people that talked to you about that stuff are doing it wrong if they are applying anything at an individual level. What is actually happening is on the population level. On average men are trusted / respected more than women are. This doesn't invalidate your experiences. Anyone trying to do that is flat out wrong.

Maybe. You are good at voicing opinions, but in this case I think you should be listening instead. Men aren't questioned or doubted as much as Women, and this is yet another example of this in action, so there isn't really any discussion to be had. It's well documented and backed up by research that this happens.

No I just dropped by to be condescending. Some discussions just aren't worth wasting any time on. :-)

How do you still breath with your head buried so deeply in sand?

doommaggot  ·  3430 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why L, G, B, and T together?

    Men

    Females

Uggghhh. Why do people do this?

doommaggot  ·  3430 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: Why L, G, B, and T together?

That's because white / Christian cultures have made a deliberate effort to try and erase the existence of trans people. For example how being Hijra was declared as being illegal during the British Raj in India.

This map shows many gender identities from around the world
