I hope the best isn't over. I hope that Neflix and other emerging media platforms will pick up the mantle of experimenting within the genre instead of relying on predictable "winners" to drive revenue. I remember asking bgood79 if he had seen The Walking Dead and he responded, "nah, I'm trying to ride out this whole vampire/zombie thing without having seen any of it." -Hard to do in this day and age.

And still going strong. This is exactly like the time you asked me if I'd picked up the new 98 Degrees CD. Much to your chagrin, I told you 'nah, I'm trying to ride out this whole boy band thing without listening to any of it.'

Walking dead is the logical limit of the zombie thing - in other words, it's a mediocre survivalist tale with added misanthropy.

"nah, I'm trying to ride out this whole vampire/zombie thing without having seen any of it."

Genius idea. Wish I had thought of it myself. At least once a week, my coworker asks me if I'm watching walking dead yet. At this point, I feel like I would be arriving to the party as all the cool people were leaving. This is what happened with breaking bad. I started watching it two years ago and couldn't catch up and finally gave up.

I started watching Breaking Bad this year and in a couple of weeks had completely caught up. -dangerously good. much like 98 Degrees -bgood79 you missed out.

I've made it almost through Season 1 a couple times and end up getting distracted. I cranked through The Wire no problem, though, so I'm on it.

Gotta finish Serial Experiments:Lain first, and I got me some alternative history to catch up on. With a tumbler of bourbon. In the hammock. In my shorts. Socal in November, bitchez...

70 degrees out today in Durham, not too shabby for a michigander. Just missing the hammock.. and more sadly, the bourbon. Though I did manage to record some music tonight with the aid of some Louis Jadot pinot noir, could be worse. Off to read some Blood Meridian.

Funny, I have watched the first season of The Wire and ended up getting distracted. I'll revisit someday. You'll dig Breaking Bad. Cranston has some chops.
