I briefly considered ending it with them running away as rifle rounds buzzed past their heads, but it seemed like a bit much. I'm curious to see where it goes.

Only in our amazing story would someone running away from rifle fire seem like "too much" but a large caribou army in a field is perfectly acceptable. -That's awesome.
