Such a shame; his critique of the newest Pearl Harbor will stay with me forever.

Also an example of a celebrity death that will actually affect the real world, because age doesn't particularly inhibit the ability to brilliantly review movies.

I never read the Pearl Harbor critique but I will go look for it now. Never saw the film. I posted this in honor of his passing. I'm a fan, I thought his passion was always evident. He was first and foremost a fan of film, then a great writer and only last a popular personality.

You should take a look at this excerpt from his memoir someone just sent me. I don't think I ever realized quite how brilliant Ebert was.
