This was posted a while back by kleinbl00 and I thought it appropriate to re-link it after hearing about Roger Eberts death. I may not have always agreed with his assessment of films but he certainly steered me in directions I might not have gone otherwise. It was Ebert that got me to watch The Decalogue, it was he that introduced me to the three colors trilogy and many, many, many other films. I owe the guy. My guess is you do too, whether you know it or not.
