In case you wanted to see how the sausage was made. Guitarists explaining their gear is always a fun, educational watch. Trey seems like a kid showing us his He-Man collection. Pretty cool
Interesting to see him sort of "petting" his guitar. I like the humbucker sound, always have. I really want a Les Paul. My Tele is great but it sounds too thin sometimes. I guess the grass is always greener. That tube screamer with the sustain sounds so great and I can remember appreciating that sound live. The story behind the fans buying him the compressor is cool. "being familiar with your gear is more important than having really good gear." -What a great quote.
The fact that he doesn't think people pay attention that closely is really cool too. I often wonder about that with musicians, actors and other entertainers, do they realize how much they are revered and how much they're studied? Especially the really great ones. I imagine that they don't, because they are so deeply engrossed in their work. Trey seems cool.
Yeah and when asked about the grateful dead relation, as he's been asked in just about every interview, he's not smug or in denial. He gets it and gives props. The more interviews i dig up on him and Jerry, the more i think there needs to be more musicians like them out there. Like this one too
