I've been giving them money under the assumption that if they say they'll shut down if they don't get it, they'll shut down if they don't get it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predictions_of_the_end_of_Wikipedia#Sources_of_viewers_and_funds It is... unseemly to triangulate from "we have a third of a billion dollar endowment" to "we're doomed" particularly when there are countless ventures more in need of support. I've been donating to Wikipedia for about ten years now. Never fuckin' again. Fuck 'em.
