The Celera is cool. Love the pusher-prop and dolphin body. But that DA-42 is ... really pretty. An executive's Warthog? I dunno... something about it just makes my gears turn. I'd trade my Celera for a DA-42.
It's a Cessna 172 designed after 2010. All-carbon, Jet-A, glass cockpit. The Celera will do a pilot, a copilot and six passengers. The DA-42 will do you, your wife and that couple you golf with. Or, you know, a long-endurance surveillance package.Additional baggage is stowed in two generous nose compartments that are sized for golf bags and offer maximum flexibility in loading for any mission.
Holy fuck I had no idea Cirrus were that expensive. This one's been for sale for like five years. I fell in love with Foland Gnats when I saw one at Pima Air & Space - it's like a BD-5J for people who actually want to fly. Unfortunately it burns 180 gallons per hour.
