So I am completely new to hubski. Any veterans care to tell me how to make the most out of it?
Welcome. I've been around for a bit, some things that might not be immediately intuitive: There is a "hubwheel" beneath your name and the more you participate in the community and the more your contributions are appreciated, the more the little "wheels" will fill in and eventually you will make a full rotation and earn a badge. Once you've earned a badge you can gift it to a post or comment that you appreciate. These "badged" posts/comments can be found under the discover tabs on the left and they're a great place to find quality content imo. It's a fun place with some interesting people of all sorts. Let me know if I can be of any help. mk is the creator and is really accessible and open to suggestions. Cheers!
I didn't realize you could see all badged posts over there.
No I haven't. That's a sweet set of stats. I might start my browsing there now. I'm surprised there has only been 22 badges dispersed. I'm getting this from the number of badged articles and comments in the aforementioned stream. I've got one in the chamber but I'm saving it for something good. That makes me think can I badge myself?
Many more. Are looking at badges under 'discover'? It looks like you've got 2 in the chamber now, or er... one ithe chamber and one in the clip? Sorry. No self-badgulation. :)I'm surprised there has only been 22 badges dispersed.

Yes I am looking at badges. By dispersed I mean people who earned them and have given them to someone else. The last post in my stream is Its been 9 years since I killed our dog. When I clicked more posts no more came up. So I counted all articles and comments and got 22.
The last (or first) one that I see is It should be easier for me to give mice brain tumors. I think that is correct, it's a very old post.
And under "community" you can see the most popular post and comment of the day. Kind of cool.
Thanks for the welcome. The badge idea sounds like a really neat way of sharing content. On a side note, I have to say, I really love the aesthetic of the site - although I haven't currently learnt the ins and outs of the user interface, it all hangs together really well.
Welcome dubiouspig! Funny you should say that right before I updated the design. Hope it still works for you! Also, you can try another style of the site in 'controls'. Feel free to ask questions or send feedback along. You can shout out to people directly by putting @'s on either side of their username.I have to say, I really love the aesthetic of the site
I still don't quite understand how you requote a person's comment. I've tried to do this: "Text after a blank line that is indented by two or more spaces is reproduced verbatim in a different font." I'll try again: I have to say, I really love the aesthetic of the site.
You put a | at the beginning and end of the text you want to quote.
Can't you escape it with a whitespace (or maybe an \ or /)? Lets try: Nope, doesn't seem to work :SYou put a /
