There's about a 100% chance that this guy was around Trump over the weekend.
So that's... Hmm.
He has perhaps refused testing: Trump has not been tested for coronavirus, White House says, despite indirect contact Or he's been tested, and the results are being kept private. Seriously though, how can he simultaneously believe that journalists might try to infect him on Air Force One while refusing to be tested? hahahhahahahahahh!! The jokes just keep on comin'. I'm inspired to run for president so I can get my DOJ to investigate that time Andy tattled on me in 2nd grade. That'd be considerably easier than what he's asking, actually. ... telling Vanity Fair he reportedly wants the Justice Department to "open an investigation of the media for market manipulation" as he tries to stave off, or at least provide a more optimistic outlook for, the plummeting stock market.
The fact that Trump hasn't self-quarantined at this point is absolutely stupid. Obviously, it's been recommended to him by "the experts", and he's suppressed news of that, too. Hey mk (or anyone, really), what do we know so far about people testing positive (critically: people using the U.S. testing kits) as a function of time after contracting covid-19? It may vary considerably between different people, of course.
Not sure about US kits, but 50% of people have symptoms in 5 days. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/mar/09/coronavirus-sufferers-symptom-free-for-five-days-on-average-study The asymptomatic infectious period exists but its length is unknown. False negatives are definitely an issue, especially if symptoms haven’t started. You need a certain viral load before getting a positive.
Right. Thank you much. We need to more closely understand the period between exposure and identification, and how it may vary with exposure location on the body, amount, and people's hygiene. What a crock to untangle. It goes without saying that increasing testing sensitivity would be beneficial. Can we do that? And can we use multiple testing methods to help decrease uncertainty? Obvz costs go up, though.
