I don't think I know shit about punk other than I like some of it. Much like Metal, I don't get all the different sub-genres and groupings that seem essential to the appreciation of Punk. I never remember if the Dead Kennedy's are actually punk, poser-punk or just a fun name to put on a t-shirt or denim vest these days. I know I like Streetlight Manifesto, both their originals and their album of covers which includes that. Which I like quite a lot.
I don't know how many punk purists are alive in the wild today, but I know that I don't care much about their opinions. I like the weird shit, and that's been a decent compass so far. Streetlight Manifesto is great, and Linoleum slaps Ever listen to folk punk? Kinda figured it was a bridge too far to post here, but there's some real gutter shit in there (he said, intending it as a compliment)
